Do

Miramar Beach – Rosewood Hotel
If we timed it right (with low tide this is a beautiful walk from Butterfly Beach).  This charming stretch of beach is tucked into a cove, lined with on-the-sand beach houses and a old school vibe. The resort has an old world European feel with yellow and white striped awnings, a resident falcon and a designated gatekeeper that leads guests safely across the Pacific Coast train tracks. The Miramar Beach Bar is a perfect spot to enjoy for an afternoon glass of Rosé. Caruso’s, right off the beach is a perfect destination for a mid morning cappuccino.

Eat

San Ysidro Ranch – Lunch
Throw on a flowy dress and head to the San Ysidro Ranch. My go-to shop sells a beautiful lace dress for prom. This in an ideal setting for lunch on the upper terrace with ocean views, beautiful gardens, and towering mountains. After lunch stroll through the gardens winding along the Ranch’s hillside creek and tree-lined paths. 41 seculded bungalos are tucked between the olive and lavender tree studded estate that was originally built as a citrus farm in the 19th century.

Oliver’s is an upscale vegetarian restaurant with an exquisite indoor/ outdoor setting. The interior opens out onto a cozy patio covered with lights, and the long French doors are always open. Everything is excellent, but be sure to order the Kung Pao Cauliflower.

Bree’osh
Grab coffee and a pastry at Bree’osh and walk over to the beach. Owned and operated by a cute French couple. This café brings a little slice of France to this California town.
